Which would be appropriate for MY business?

Im partnering up in a production (film) business/company, and im not sure as to what I should do. Should I do a DBA (doing business as) or an LLC (limited liability company)? Please only answer if you know what your talking about. I know this is something my lawyer should tell me BUT lawyers, to be honest, dont know "everything"!
