Malaysians fluent in English?

Hello, from Canada! I happened to just come across this site while surfing the internet. Going through this site, I'm surprised at the decent level of English shown by presumedly Malaysian users here. The last time I was in Malaysia visiting family, the majority of people I met either struggled with English or could not speak a word of it. =|
