What are strangler figs?

it is a woody vine that climbs up a tree and competes for resources with it. It will usually kill the tree, sometimes once the tree has died, it will rot away leaving a hollow network of vines that support themselves as if the tree were still there, creating a webbed, hollow tree. There are some sweet pictures if you go to google and search strangler fig and hit the images tab at the top.
